Something has been bothering me a ton lately. I enjoy laughing, I enjoy attention and I love having conversations with people. It seems to me that people have forgotten how to be the other end of a conversation.
I have people that will text me, so I'm thinking they want to chat since they text me right? Oh how wrong I am. It usually ends with me responding with "How are you?" Now, when I ask you how are you I am not just trying to sound nice. I actually want to know how you are. Give me details! I am nosy and I like details. You can't bore me. Don't just respond with "okay." Okay? UGH! Then they respond with "How are you?" So I go into detail. "I'm bored and tired." "I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." I give detail.
Then, the next response I receive is "That's good." Really? That's all you got for me? I am so sick of short answers that can't really go any where. I have other things I can be doing other than TRYING to carry on a conversation with someone who text me first.
Another thing that annoys me is when someone is trying to outdo me or trying to throw me some pity story. First, I am not trying to compete with me. I am not trying to see whose life is "worse." Second, I have been through a lot of crap and I pulled through just fine. I don't care what you have lost, how sick you have been, what kind of crap you went though in your childhood. It should not be an excuse for you to be a whiny brat looking for attention. Guess what, I get attention in a totally different way. I make people laugh! I act like a moron sometimes and other times I actually have intelligent conversations. I don't need my "Oh woe is me" past to get that attention. I learned to deal and move on, you should to.
Next, people that take over a conversation completely! I have a friend that I talk to often. I love her to death but I hate just listening. It's funny cause I will start talking and she will actually start talking OVER me. Sometimes I feel like she thinks that anything I have to say is just high school nonsense and means nothing, while everything she says is of the utmost importance.
There are very few people that I can actually talk to and not get bored or annoyed. VERY FEW. And only a few that I could possibly text all day. If those people read this blog they so know who they are.
That is my rant. It is poorly put together and kind of all over the place but...that's how my brain works. Deal with it.
Much Love
Heather

It's an epidemic!!
This has been an ongoing epidemic that really caught my attention the week after Christmas. I didn't think much of it at first, but then today, it happened again. It's straight up rude and it makes you feel rude too!
I know, you are shouting, "Just spit it out already!"
Wanna know what it is?
People talking on the phone in the bathroom!
It's so annoying and rude! Not only are you being rude to the people IN the bathroom but you are being rude to the person on the other side of the line.
Toilets flushing, people making grunting noises as they...drop their load (I'm really sorry, I just had to stick that in there.), people washing their hands. And then, there you are, talking on the phone. Now everyone in the bathroom for the proper reason feels rude because who ever is on the other side of the line can hear all the noise and you keep talking louder to talk over all the noise.
The bathroom is not for talking on the phone! If you are not supposed to be on the phone while at work, here is a thought, DON'T DO IT! Seriously. Let us pee (or what ever else you are doing in the bathroom) in peace! Take the phone call outside. Or text people telling them that you can't talk right now. Texting in the bathroom is totally okay, because no one knows that you are in the bathroom.
And you know, it really sucks being on the other end of the line when someone has their phone in the bathroom. You hear the echo on the bathroom walls and all the other disgusting noises that goes along with it. I don't know about you but I hate the sound of someone peeing and I hate even more hearing someone flush the toilet through the phone. It's just wrong.
So, people of America and all other countries of the world, stop making phone calls in the bathroom! Please!
